On November 26 at 18:00 a.m. MSK (GMT+3) the public Council on Foreign and Defense Policy jointly with The Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund are organizing online round table «The World without UN» as part of the project “Historical Memory Laboratory: What Happened Before Us?” The discussion will be moderated by Fyodor Lukyanov, Editor-in-Chief of Russia in Global Affairs, Chairman of the Presidium of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy.
The United Nations turned 75 years – a solid age and an important milestone. The organization has been designed as a tool allowing to avoid terrible upheavals experienced by the world in the first half of the XX century. And this major aim of the prevention of war has so far been achieved. Nevertheless the world of the XXI century continue to rock by a series of overlapping crisis. While the efficiency of the UN is being increasingly questioned.
How could the world without the UN look like? Is international stability possible in a world without the UN? And if not, what alternatives to the institutionalized world order could be offered? The participants in the discussion will answer these and other questions.
