For Donald Trump, the concepts of democracy, autocracy, values, and non-values are not important. He sees the interests of the United States in a different way, as being the hegemon of the world. He does not see the U.S. as a country that imposes certain rules on others and rules the globe. Instead, Trump believes that the U.S. can achieve what it wants if it desires it, without having to rule the world. His idea of primacy and hegemony means that the U.S. should focus on its own concrete interests, such as economic, political, and cultural interests. In his view, these interests are more important than other countries’ interests. Therefore, Ukraine is not considered a vital interest by Trump. He believes that Ukraine does not deserve the attention, money, and political turmoil that it has received.
