On October 2, 2025, Sochi hosted the plenary session of the 22nd Annual Meeting of the Valdai Discussion Club “The Polycentric World: Instructions for Use” with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The session was moderated by Fyodor Lukyanov, Editor-in-Chief of the Russia in Global Affairs magazine, Research Director of the Foundation of the Valdai Club.

The Club’s flagship international conference brought together 140 participants from 42 countries, including Algeria, Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, Germany, India, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Russia, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the United States, Uzbekistan, and Venezuela.
The participants of the discussions touched upon a wide range of topics, including: the transformation of the world order and the movement towards multipolarity; the use of force in the modern world; the fate of democracy; the achievement of scientific and technological sovereignty; the development of artificial intelligence; and migration.
At one of the sessions, the annual Valdai report “Dr. Chaos or: How to Stop Worrying and Love the Disorder” was presented.
